Case filed over dismembered body recovered from drum, friend George Mia is main accused in the case

Special Correspondent, Daily NASA News.A case has been filed over the incident in which a dismembered body was recovered from a drum near the gate of the National Eidgah Maidan, beside the High Court. Ashraful Haque’s friend, Jorez Mia, has been named as the prime suspect in the case. Several other unidentified individuals have also been listed as accused. The case was filed on Friday morning, November 14, by Ashraful’s sister, Anzina Begum, at Shahbagh Police Station.Shahbagh Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Khalid Monsur stated that a murder case has been filed following the recovery of 26 body parts of businessman Ashraful Haque from a blue-colored drum. Jorez Mia, the victim’s friend, has been made the prime accused. No arrests have been made so far. Authorities are analyzing CCTV footage and other information to quickly identify those involved.Masud Alam, Deputy Commissioner (DC) of the Ramna Division of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP), said that Ashraful had come to Dhaka from his home on Tuesday. He was in contact with his family until 9 PM on Wednesday night, after which he could not be reached. Ashraful imported onions and potatoes from India and Myanmar and held a government license for this business. On Thursday evening, pieces of a body were recovered from the blue drum. Initially, the identity was unknown, but later, through fingerprint verification, the victim was identified as Md. Ashraful Haque (42) of Gopalpara, Badarganj, Rangpur. His father is Md. Abdur Rashid, and his mother is Mosha: Esra Khatun.
