Biman Bangladesh Airlines has launched direct flights on Dhaka-Karachi-Dhaka route. Today, Thursday 29th January, Biman's first flight BG-341 from Dhaka departed for Karachi at 8 pm.150 passengers traveled on the first flight. On this occasion, a program was organized at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport. Sheikh Bashiruddin, Advisor to the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Biman Bangladesh Airlines was present in the program. 

Pakistan's ambassador to Bangladesh Imran Haider,Air Vice Marshal Md. Mustafa Mahmud Siddique, Chairman of the Civil Aviation Authority, were also present at the event.Biman's managing director and CEO Dr.Md. Safiqur Rahman.Also,the officials of the Ministry,Aviation, Civil Aviation and other organizations were present at the opening ceremony.

  Biman's first flight will reach Karachi at 11 pm local time on Thursday.The return flight BG-342 will depart from Karachi at 12:01 PM today and arrive in Dhaka tomorrow,Friday,January 30 at 4:20 AM.As per the winter schedule from today,January 29,every Thursday and Saturday will depart from Dhaka at 8:00 PM local time and arrive in Karachi at 11:00 PM and depart from Karachi at 12:10 PM local time and arrive in Dhaka at 4:20 AM on the same day.    

Through the launch of this route, direct communication between Bangladesh and Pakistan has been established. Biman believes that the route will play an important role in the expansion of business and trade between the two countries, the spread of education and the creation of cultural links.
