Badiuzzaman Rajababu, Chapainawabganj. Border Guard Bangladesh (59 BGB) is standing by the cold people in Kiranganj area bordering Shibganj Upazila of Chapainawabganj. Today, Saturday 10th January at 11 am Mahananda Battalion (59 BGB) distributed blankets among 300 local families in the Eidgah field under the responsibility of Kiranganj BOP.Captain of Mahananda Battalion (59 BGB) Lt. Col. Golam Kibria, BGBM, BGOM was present as the chief guest on the occasion. He said "BGB is not only in ensuring the security of the border, but also playing an important role in improving the quality of life of the people in the border areas and providing humanitarian assistance. Through the distribution of winter clothes, the suffering of cold and helpless people will be alleviated to some extent".Deputy Commander Major Abdullah Al-Asif, Assistant Director Sheikh Monowarul Islam and other officers and members of Mahananda Battalion were also present at the event. The local people expressed their gratitude to BGB by receiving winter clothes. BGB authorities said that such public service and humanitarian activities will continue in the future.
